1973 von den Brüdern Angus und Malcolm Young gegründet, landeten AC/DC 1976 den ersten richtigen Kracher - "High Voltage" und 1979 dann der aus meiner Sicht Höhepunkt der "Bon Scott Ära" - "Highway To Hell"! Bon Scott trug entscheidend zum Erfolg von AC/DC bei. Um so schmerzlicher für Band und Fans, war dann 1980 der Tod von Bon Scott. Der gefundende "Ersatz", Brian Johnson, hatte ein schweres Erbe anzutreten - der Glorienschein des legendären Bon Scott schien hell. Doch im Laufe der Jahre ist Brian Johnson immer mehr fester Bestandteil von AC/DC geworden, hat der Sänger doch schon mit Einstieg (1980) an einem AC/DC-Klassiker - "Back In Black" - mitgewirkt.

"Back In Black" wird heute als Meilenstein der Rockgeschichte bezeichnet. Ich finde die Alben "Powerage" und das schon erwähnte "Highway To Hell" gehören auch dazu!

Bei AC/DC hat sich im Laufe der Jahre Einiges an Longplayern angesammelt. Ich habe nicht alles, aber wohl das Wichtigste. Meine Empfehlung sind die früheren Sachen - nicht wegen Bon Scott, sondern wegen der Blues-Stücke: "The Jack", "Ride On" oder "Down Payment Blues". Die Teile sind die pure Energie - da ist der Bandname Programm - ein Höllenspaß und geballte Power, eine coole Party - und wir hoffen alle, daß es nun bald weitergeht.

AC/DC - Maximum Rock 'n' Roll

AC/DC schoben die Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Longplayers Black Ice extrem lange, acht Jahre. Träume werden wohl doch mal war, denn am 17. Oktober 2008 erscheint das neue AC/DC Album.

Zuvor wurde im September 2007 eine neue Doppel-DVD veröffentlicht. Der Titel ist Plug Me In und enthält Live-Mitschnitte aus der Bon Scott Ära und die Folgejahre mit Brian Johnson am Mikro.

Ebenso erschien auch das Buch AC/DC. Maximum Rock 'n' Roll von Murray Engleheart und Arnaud Durieux. Presse und Fans zeigen sich schwer begeistert von dieser Bandbiographie. Über 30 Jahre AC/DC darf man erinnern bzw. nacherleben

Backtracks

AC/DC packen Anfang November 2009 erneut die "Familien-Juwelen" aus. Backtracks ist ein 3-Disk-Box-Set und enthält seltene Studioaufnahmen, Outtakes und rare Livegigs aus den Jahren 1977 bis 2000. Mit Disk 3 wird die “Family Jewels”-Serie fortgesetzt.
